Why We Host in the UK and Europe

Zeros Host runs on UK and EU servers. Here is why that matters for your players, your wallet, and your data.

Update, 2026-08: our real UK (London) node is now live and carrying customer servers, alongside our EU datacentres in Germany. The reasoning below has been updated to reflect that.

Every Zeros Host server runs on infrastructure located in the UK or the EU. We chose these locations for latency, data protection, and because most of our players are in the UK. Here is why it matters.

Latency

Most GMod and Minecraft communities in the UK are playing on servers hosted in the US. That adds 80 to 150 milliseconds of latency before a single packet reaches the server. For a DarkRP server running at 33 ticks per second, that is multiple extra ticks of delay on every action.

UK and EU-hosted servers mean UK and European players connect to infrastructure that is physically close, and our London node gives UK players the shortest possible hop. Latency from the UK to our servers is significantly lower than connecting to US-based hosts. That difference is felt in-game.

Pricing in GBP

We bill in British Pounds. No USD conversion, no exchange rate surprises, no international transaction fees on your bank statement. The price on the page is the price you pay, plus VAT where applicable.

Data protection

Your server data, player logs, and backups are stored in UK and EU datacentres under GDPR law. For community servers that handle player data, this matters more than most people realise.

Support in your timezone

Our support team is active during UK evenings, which is when your community is actually online. Not during US business hours while your players are asleep. When your DarkRP server goes down at 9pm on a Friday, we are here.
