We Rebuilt the Server Console

The console is where you spend most of your time, so we rebuilt it: live resource graphs beside the terminal, a storage breakdown that shows what is using your disk, quick links to your files and backups, and a cleaner look throughout.

The console is where you spend most of your time when you run a server. It is where you watch the game start up, catch an error the moment it happens, and run the odd command. So when a page gets that much use, small friction adds up. We took the console apart and rebuilt it, and this post walks through what changed and why.

Everything in one view

The old console asked you to jump around. You watched the log in one place, then opened another page to check whether your server was running hot, then went somewhere else again to look at your files. The rebuilt console brings the important things together. The terminal sits front and centre with room to breathe, your resource graphs sit right beside it, and a tab bar across the top links straight to your Files, Backups and Schedules. You can keep an eye on the log and your server's health at the same time, and get to the rest of your server in a click.

Live graphs that actually move

CPU, memory and network now show as live graphs next to the console, and they update as your server runs rather than sitting still. We also fixed something subtle but important: the graphs now plot each point against the real time it happened, so the shape of the line matches what your server actually did. When you see a spike, it lines up with the moment in the log that caused it, which makes tracking down a problem much quicker.

See what is using your disk

Running out of disk space is one of those things you only notice once it has already caused a problem. The console now shows a storage breakdown so you can see how your space is split across your files at a glance. If something is quietly eating your disk, a growing world file, a pile of logs, an old backup, you can spot it and deal with it before it stops your server.

A cleaner look

Alongside the new layout, the whole panel has a refreshed look with a consistent teal accent running through the console, the graphs and the controls. It is a smaller thing than the new features, but a calmer, more consistent page is easier to read at a glance, and the console is a page you glance at a lot.

The small wins add up

A few smaller changes landed at the same time. Your player count now shows even while a server is offline, so you do not have to open another page to check. Downloading files as a Zip now gives you a proper .zip that opens straight away. And your activity log entries are now clickable, opening a detail view and, where it makes sense, jumping you straight to the file involved.

Try it

The new console is live now on every server in your panel, so next time you open one you will land straight on it. If you are not with us yet, you can try the panel and the new console on a free trial with no card needed. Our Garry's Mod, Minecraft and Rust hosting all use the same console, and plans are on the pricing page. As always, if there is something you would like to see in the console next, let us know on the feedback page.
